The Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a non profit Academic Research Body established in 1989 by the Ministry of Education in order to carry research and development activities in the fields of all diverse aspects of ICT. The Distributed, Knowledge and Media Systems Group-DKMS (www.grid.ece.ntua.gr), is a Research Laboratory of ICCS and its research activities focus mainly on: Advanced Distributed Computing, dealing with topics such as Service Oriented Architectures, Cloud Computing and Internet of Things. Work includes Distributed Computing, SOA systems, Data Aggregation, Policy-driven systems, QoS and Trust issues in Service Provisioning Systems, SLA Lifecycle Management (provisioning, negotiation, enforcement, etc), Social Media.

Founded in 1987, ATC is an Information Technology Company (SME) offering solutions and services targeting specific sectors incl. the Media, Banking and Retail Sectors, Utilities and Public Sector Organisations as well as horizontal solutions focusing on Content Management, Web Applications, Human Capital Resource Management and eLearning, and Mobile Applications.

|Cognium Systems SA is a French SME founded in 2005 as a spin-off from Institut Pasteur, France. Its focus is development and commercialization of innovative software based on Semantic Web technologies. Its first product, a Semantic Electronic Laboratory Notebook for biomedical researchers, was launched in March 2008 and is in use at hundreds of research laboratories across the world. The main focus of Cognium's current R&D is a social messaging system called BounceIt. On the one hand, BounceIt uses SNs to filter and manage information, and on the other hand, it uses information exchange to automatically construct and enrich SNs. BounceIt was launched in June 2009 and is based on technologies developed by the EU FP6 project Nepomuk (The Social Semantic Desktop) where Cognium was both a development partner and the leader of a case study. Cognium Systems has also consulted other companies in social media marketing strategies.
